Magill and I attended the 7th Annual Chris Menyhart Memorial Encampment at Whitehorse Ranch on Saturday, November 15th. It was a huge success, and a lot of fun. The town has grown so fast! There is now a chapel, a jail and a gallows--just the sort of sign that the place is getting a little too civilized for Pop:

Luckily, I was able to come to an "understanding" with Mayor German Pete Menyhart, and carried on with the medicine pitch without getting into any trouble.

Jeff "Soapy" Smith, and Brian Tolman were at the event.

Jeff's new saloon and gaming club, the Tivoli was going full blast, in spite of heavy competition from the Whitehorse Saloon owned by German Pete:

There was a little trouble in the street, someone said to one of Soapy's associates that he thought the beer at the Tivoli was watered down...this was a social fauz pas in Whitehorse...But it didn't stop the fun, or Dave Bourne's piano playin' at the Whitehorse Saloon:

The Whitehorse was very lively:

My pitch, as always, drew a good crowd and sold a bunch of Miracle Oil and Hard Rock Candy:

One of the improvements is the new licensed gun shop that German Pete has opened in town:

The Whitehorse Ranch Gun Smith is also available online at www.shop.whitehorseranch.de, and further info on Whitehorse Ranch at www.whitehorseranch.com

German Pete has quite an operation at the ranch, and it is a great place to relax and get back into that old nineteenth century groove.

It was a wonderful weekend at the Whitehorse Ranch. Having some of the Scoundrels there made it all the better. One cannot watch Whit perform and hear Dave play musical instruments too many times. I came home with no voice left, having talked myself out, lol.

Darn!  I thought when I pulled this up it was going to be some brothel in Pahrump, NV.  Looks cool though.  Love the Wild West.  Bad part is the facilities are nil.  I guess I'm just a city slicker.

Hello Pop and Soapy and everyone,

That looks like a wonderfully fun place. Is there lodging there at the hotel? How many rooms? Do you know the rates? I assume and so hope that the poker game of choice is Five Card Draw? A girl has to have her standards. That's  my favorite poker game. So, is there an Annual Five Card Draw Tournament? Now that would be fun!!!

Pop, so, when you are at the Whitehorse, what playing cards do you like, Highlanders? And, are your card tricks period?

Love,

Amanda Angeli

Pop, love the photos.  I was drooling looking at the guns there.  Wish I could have been there to help raise a glass and toast ya'll.

Amanda, I like poker and five card draw as well.  The problem is, no one will play with me as they think I will cheat to win.  I was told once that if I did win, they thought I was cheating and if I lost, they questioned my credibility.  So, it was a no win situation.

Maybe one day, I will get to travel and visit all these great sites.  I have a long coat from the western days as well as a hat.  My grandson is begging me to give it to him.  I told him when I die, he can have it.  Hope he does not think about using that Smith and Wesson .45 I gave him  Wink.

Hope all have a happy holiday season.
